Master Parrot’s Family Questions Police Account of His Death

The family of the late singer Master Parrot have questioned the official account of events surrounding his death and are demanding more answers.

Speaking to Sanyuka Uncut after his burial in Kamengo, some members called for further investigations, saying several questions about the incident remain unresolved.

They also dispute the claim that the singer died in a road accident and suspect someone killed him before dumping his body on the road.

We have not yet gone back to the police. For now, we are still waiting, but his death is not clear to us. We do not understand what happened because his body was intact. I went to the mortuary and saw him myself. His head was not crushed. It is possible that someone killed him and later dumped the body on the road. That is what we suspect.

According to police, an unidentified speeding vehicle knocked down Master Parrot, whose real name was David Sifaayo, near Masanafu along the Kampala Northern Bypass as he attempted to cross the road on the evening of June 1, 2026.

Police classified the incident as a hit-and-run, launched a manhunt for the driver, and began reviewing CCTV footage from the area as part of the investigation.

The family, however, continues to challenge that account and is calling for investigators to uncover the full circumstances surrounding Master Parrots’s death.
