Mbale MC Stabbed to Death in Suspected Love Triangle
Tragedy struck Mbale City on Tuesday night after a popular master of ceremonies was stabbed to death in an alleged domestic dispute.
The deceased has been identified as Wanambwa Jonathan, a well-known music MC at Oak Bar and resident of Muyembe Cell, Maluku Ward in Mbale City’s Industrial Division.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 9:20 pm when Jonathan reportedly invited a woman, Hellya Sonia, to his home.
On arrival, Sonia found another woman, later identified as Namono Geraldine, already inside and seated on his bed.
An argument ensued when Namono confronted Jonathan about Sonia’s presence.
The deceased is said to have instructed Namono to leave the house, but during the scuffle, Sonia allegedly witnessed Namono draw a sharp object and stab Jonathan in the back.
His cries for help alerted neighbours, who rushed to the scene.
They found Jonathan lying in a pool of blood outside his rented home.
The neighbours quickly restrained the suspect and rushed the victim to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police confirmed that the crime scene has been preserved for documentation, statements from eyewitnesses have been recorded, and the body remains at the hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
Namono Geraldine is currently in custody as investigations into the incident continue.
