Meet Viana Indi: The Young Star Lighting Up Uganda’s Entertainment Scene
By Penny Ankunda
Many know her as the Vybe Queen, but few understand the journey that shaped her into the young star she is today.
Viana Indi’s real name is Vivian Ayesiga Kabahindi, a name given by her grandmother.
She created her stage name by blending “Viana” from Vivian and “Indi” from Kabahindi.
At 23, she carries herself with the confidence and grace of someone beyond her years.
From an early age, Viana never waited for opportunities.
She grew up in church, taking on leadership roles that taught her to speak up and lead.
Her love for the spotlight came naturally.
At school, teachers noticed this spark and chose her as deputy head girl, then head girl by Primary Six.
Viana loved sports, playing netball passionately during primary school and taking part in school activities.
But television truly captured her heart.
In Senior Six, her admiration for presenters like Douglas Lwanga and Crystal Panda grew stronger.
She wanted to be like them, not just famous, but influential and inspirational.
She took her first steps by reaching out to Crystal Panda, whose show and energy left a lasting impression.
That bold move marked the start of her television journey.
Today, Viana works with the NBS After 5 team, one of Uganda’s most respected entertainment crews.
She describes them as brothers who support and guide her.
With their help, she has earned respect in the industry despite her youth.
Viana had her first international performance in Rwanda, sharing the stage with DJ Roja and Slick Stuart.
It was a major milestone confirming she was on the right path.
One thing that sets her apart is her independence.
Viana does not rely on others. She stands tall, fits in wherever she goes, and strives to make a difference.
Knowing the industry’s challenges, she reminds herself to stay mentally strong.
Viana Indi is not chasing fame. She is working to become a role model for young people.
Proud of her roots, her faith, and every step she has taken, she is grateful for life, every opportunity, and every lesson that shaped her.
