Melody Blasts Promoter Norbert For Not Paying Performers
Musician Melody recently addressed the talk surrounding his career.
Once a star in his own right, Melody now plays second fiddle to Jose Chameleone by backing him up on stage, a move that has left many puzzled.
Speaking to Uncut, Melody defended his position in the entertainment industry.
“If Weasel Manizo, who has so much respect and star power, can be a backup for Chameleone, why should I face any criticism for doing the same? Why me?” Melody asked.
Turning the spotlight on his personal life, Melody addressed rumors about a supposed romantic link in Canada.
“Back then, for a man to be considered a man, he had to have women backing him,” Melody said.
He clarified that when he talks about having many ‘girlfriends,’ he is referring to his female friends, not romantic relationships.
“I have never introduced any woman to my family or the public,” he added, to ensure the message was clear.
Melody also took a swipe at Promoter Norbert, revealing that, in addition to Weasel, the kids who danced at the Memories of Goodlye Concert did not get paid. He mentioned they had to scramble for funds to send them home, suggesting that Norbert might not have the best ethics.
As for his place in the music industry, Melody declared, “I am not just a musician; I have directed some of the biggest music shows in Uganda.”
He went on to say that he has stood on more bigger stages than most musicians we consider successful.
