MI Abaga Reflects on Love, Regret, and Finding “The One” at 40

Nigerian rap legend MI Abaga is getting real about his personal life, especially the emotional journey that led to finding love later than most of his friends.

In a recent podcast chat on Jay On Air, the rapper shared that he once struggled with seeing his friends get married early and raise children, while he was still single well into his late 30s.

Many of his close friends already had teenagers, and even his brother Jesse Jagz has a 21-year-old child.

At the time, MI admitted he felt like he had missed out on that part of life.

But things took a turn just before he turned 40.

A year after ending a previous relationship, he met the woman who would eventually become his wife.

She celebrated his 40th birthday with him, and soon after, they were planning a wedding.

They tied the knot when he was 41.

Looking back, MI says the timing was just right.

He believes everyone has their own path and that rushing into marriage when you are not ready does not work.

In his case, it took some growth and reflection.
