Michael B. Jordan Scores Double Win for Sinners
American actor Michael B. Jordan had a major night at the 32nd Annual Actor Awards.
Jordan won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for playing twin brothers in Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler.
It marked his first individual win in the category, beating nominees including Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke and Jesse Plemons.
Later in the evening, Jordan returned to the stage with his castmates to accept Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, the ceremony’s top film honor.
In the supernatural thriller set in the segregated South, Jordan plays brothers Smoke and Stack, who open a juke joint and face deadly vampire forces.
The film has become a critical favorite this awards season.
Actor Viola Davis announced his lead win, prompting a standing ovation.
In his speech, Jordan thanked Coogler, his cast and his mother, saying she made him feel seen.
