Michelle Obama Speaks Out on Prioritizing Personal Well-Being Amid Divorce Rumors

Michelle Obama has spoken about stepping back from the public eye and addressing the speculation around her absence from several high-profile events.

In an interview on the “Work in Progress” podcast, hosted by actress Sophia Bush, she explained that the choice to prioritize her personal well-being has sparked rumors about her marriage.

This came after she was notably absent from former President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral and opted not to attend Donald Trump’s second presidential inauguration.

The former First Lady shared that, at 61, she is in a phase of life where she has more control over how she spends her time.

With her daughters, Malia and Sasha, now adults, Michelle no longer feels the need to fill her calendar for the sake of others.

She admitted that she could have made such decisions earlier in life but had not allowed herself the freedom to do so.

This shift, Michelle said, has given her the space to focus on herself and take a step back from the demands of her former role.

She responded to ongoing speculation about her marriage to former President Barack Obama by emphasizing that her absence is a reflection of her personal choices, not any marital issues.
