Minister Balaam Condemns Violence, Calls for Immediate Action on Gangs Linked to Musicians Alien Skin and Pallaso

During a media interview with Sanyuka TV, the Minister of State for Youth and Children’s Affairs, Balaam Barugahara, expressed his sympathy for those injured during the chaos at the Enkuuka in Mengo and the Empelle Festival in Buloba.

Both incidents were caused by a violent clash between gangs associated with musicians Alien Skin and Pallaso.

He strongly condemned the formation of such gangs, stating that they not only threaten society but also undermine the rule of law.

“These gangs, which are formed to support and protect individuals, are unacceptable and pose a significant threat to society,” he said.

Balaam called for decisive police action to dismantle these unlawful groups.

“Through the Ministry of Internal Affairs, I urge the leadership of the Uganda Police to ensure that the so-called ‘commandos’ of Alien Skin and Pallaso are apprehended and held accountable for their actions,” he added.

The minister also emphasized the urgent need for immediate medical assistance for all victims injured during these incidents.

“No one is above the law,” Balaam pointed out, explaining, “The government, under the leadership of President Museveni, does not condone unruliness or unlawful behavior. As has been shown in the past, President Museveni has always ensured that anyone acting unlawfully is held accountable, regardless of their ties or relationships.”

He concluded by reiterating his call for the police, intelligence agencies, and all relevant authorities to swiftly investigate and ensure those responsible for the chaos are held accountable.
