Mun G Highlights Audio Production as Biggest Challenge in Ugandan Music
Lugaflow rapper Mun G has identified audio production as the main hurdle facing Uganda’s music industry.
During a sit-down on Deep Talk, he explained that while Ugandan artistes are highly talented, the technical quality of their music often falls short of what modern listeners expect.
He emphasized that producers must play a pivotal role in addressing this issue.
I have done some research of my own, producers do not get mad at me, but you are the ones supposed to spearhead this thing for real. Right now we are in an era where the fans have a lot of options available on the internet. And those options have quality. People no longer even pay attention to music videos anymore, but audio.
Mun G stressed that achieving cleaner, well-mastered audio is essential if Ugandan music is to compete on a global stage.
So audio production and the producers are well versed in that field more than the artistes. If audio producers can find a way of making the sound cleaner and better mastered, audio producers need to do a lot of learning, doing things a new way, but they have to find a way of cleaning the sound. Ugandans are really talented, but now production.
He further observed that the rise of streaming platforms and online music has made fans more discerning, giving them access to high-quality sounds from across the globe.
Mun G concluded that for the Ugandan sound to improve and achieve international recognition, producers must adapt, enhance their technical skills, and raise the standards of audio production.
