Naira Ali Pushes Back on Bien Naming Joshua Baraka His Favorite ‘Kenyan Artiste’
Right after crowning Joshua Baraka’s debut album “Juvie” as album of the year, Kenyan music star Bien made a statement that seemed to ruffle some feathers in Uganda.
Bein declared that Joshua Baraka is his favorite Kenyan artiste, a comment that did not sit well with singer Naira Ali.
Shout out to Joshua. My favorite Kenyan artiste by the way.
Naira reacted on her Facebook page, calling out the statement and playfully expressing that Uganda has tolerated previous slights toward its stars, but Joshua Baraka was crossing a line.
Dear Kenyans, you took Juliana we turned a blind eye, you took Ann Kansiime we let it slide. But Joshua Baraka is where we draw the line. Cut out this foolishness. The one thing we actually took from you was the Indian Ocean and that is no reason for this drama.
Support poured in from fans in the comment section, making it clear they agreed with every word she wrote.

Earlier this year, Joshua Baraka opened up about his multicultural background, revealing that his roots extend beyond Uganda.
He explained that his father is Kenyan, from Busia, and grew up in Eldoret, while Joshua himself was born in Uganda.
He also clarified that he is Samia by tribe, which explains the origin of his surname.
