Naira Ali Reveals Why Most Talented Ugandan Musicians Never Make It Big
Ugandan singer based in the USA, Naira Ali, is spilling the tea on why some of the most talented artistes never seem to make it big in Uganda.
In a chat with YouTuber Kaiyz, the “Okikola Otya” star revealed that talent alone is not enough to dominate the charts.
She explained that while naturally talented artistes can get complacent, those who know they still have a lot to prove push themselves harder every day.
This is what I think… Because we think we are talented, we do not put in a lot of effort. If you know that you do not know, you put in a lot of effort. You make it a point to prove yourself.
Naira Ali went on to praise two female artistes who are currently leading the industry, not because of talent, but because of sheer hard work and determination.
Without revealing their names, she said:
I know two musicians who are leading the females in the industry in Uganda at the moment. I have seen their journeys. One of them I started with, the other I found already there, but I swear to God I have seen them work so hard… They are both light skinned… I have seen them work to the point that I look at them and say to myself, ‘They really work so hard,’ and that is why they are where they are today. I do commend them for the hard work. They have hustled their way to where they are, and it is not even about talent, what they know, or what they have, but about the hustle and hard work they have put in.
For Naira Ali, those willing to grind will rise to the top, while natural talent alone is often not enough.
