Naira Marley Raises Alarm Over Cultism in Nigerian Music

Naira Marley has raised alarm over what he called the growing problem of cultism in Nigeria’s music industry.

The singer, whose real name is Azeez Fashola, claimed that only a few artistes have managed to stay out of cult groups, including himself.

He suggested that many musicians join for power, influence, and protection.

Marley also mocked the trend, arguing that even the people who recruit others into cults still rely on heavy security.

In his view, that alone shows the so called protection is not as strong as people think.

He has also repeated that he is not a cultist, and previously said he was once threatened for refusing to join.
