Navio Confident He Has Reached the League of Philly, Elly, and Afrigo

Daniel Lubwama Kigozi, popularly known as Navio, says he has finally reached the top of Ugandan music.

Fans of the 2009 All Stars hit “Mr. DJ” will remember his famous line, “In a league with Philly, Elly, Afrigo.”

At the time, he was dreaming big, putting himself alongside legendary figures like Philly Bongole Lutaaya, Elly Wamala, and Afrigo Band.

Now, in 2025, Navio told Jikonkone Rewind that he truly believes he belongs in that league.

Back then I was not. I was dreaming big. But now… I stand as number one in what I do. So, that is what they were… Afrigo are number one in what they do. Elly is the number one in what he does. I am number one in what I do.

The rapper’s reflections come just ahead of his Orchestra Concert at the Kampala Serena on October 4.
