Ugandan hip hop heavyweight Navio is gearing up for one of his most defining moves yet.
After years of hearing fellow artistes complain that those who make it big never share their connections, he is stepping forward with a bold plan to change that long running narrative.
For a while now, top acts have been accused of hoarding opportunities rather than helping others break through, particularly into the international scene.
But it appears Navio has heard enough of the talk and wants his next chapter to be about openness, growth, and giving back.
Speaking to Rewind, the “One & Only” hitmaker revealed that one of his major resolutions for next year is to release a book he has quietly been working on.
The project, titled “Play Hard Work Harder,” will document the journey behind his success, including the lessons, strategies, and work ethic that helped him break barriers.
Another resolution of mine is to basically use the connects that I have come up with. A lot of people lable us gatekeepers. I really want to be free to show people how I did it. So I have written a book. My book is coming out very soon. It is called ‘Play Hard, Work Harder.’ So that is another thing that I am looking forward to having and giving the people.
Unlike what many might expect from a musician, Navio insists the book is not just a guide for upcoming artistes.
He says it offers practical insights for anyone involved in any kind of marketing.
