Navio Reveals What He Misses About Old Ugandan Music Industry
Rapper Navio has opened up about what he truly misses from the early days of the music industry, offering a rare reflection on how things have changed over time.
During his appearance on 21 Questions, Navio looked back at a period when artistes like Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine and Jose Chameleone were peaking.

Looking at that era, he said one thing he does not miss is the fighting that often defined it.
He went on to explain that the industry was more physical back then, while today’s artistes tend to rely more on words than confrontation.
Definitely not the fighting. The industry we come from is very physical. That is why sometimes you have to behave now because the boys talk a lot, but they do not want to fight, which is good. But even the talking, there has to be a point where people manage themselves and show respect. I do not miss the fighting.

Shifting to what he actually misses, Navio pointed to the absence of gadgets during performances.
What I miss about those days, I think, was no gadgets. Sometimes you come for a performance and people are on their phones. Before we used to see their faces, now we see their phones. As soon as you come on stage, people want to record. I think that is one thing I would change about the industry, the gadgets.
Reflecting further, he admitted that while the change can feel frustrating, he understands why fans behave that way today.
But, you know, we also want to capture the moment. That is the person you love, that is the person whose music you listen to, so I understand it.
