Netflix to End Support for PlayStation 3 After 17 Years

Long before streaming sticks and smart TVs took over living rooms, the PlayStation 3 doubled as a movie machine.

When Sony released the console in 2007, it was built for gaming.

Two years later, Netflix arrived on the platform, turning the PS3 into one of the first widely used devices for streaming shows and films at home.

For many users, it was their first experience watching Netflix on a television.

That run is coming to an end. After 17 years, Netflix will discontinue support for the PS3 after March 2, 2026, closing a partnership that began in 2009.

Users have reported seeing messages on their consoles confirming the app will no longer be available after this date.

With support ending, the PS3 will lose one of its longest running features.
