Nicki Minaj’s Lawyer Withdraws From $10M Lawsuit Over Communication Breakdown

Nicki Minaj is facing a new legal hurdle in an ongoing $10 million civil lawsuit.

Court filings dated February 26, 2026 show that attorney Matthew Abbott has formally requested to withdraw from representing the Trinidadian-American rapper, citing a communication breakdown.

In the motion, Abbott stated that repeated attempts to contact Minaj and her accountants over several months were unsuccessful.

The lawsuit was filed by Tameer Peak, who alleges that Minaj made false accusations about him, including claims of criminal conduct and stalking.

He argues that the statements damaged his reputation.

This development follows the earlier exit of Minaj’s longtime attorney, Judd Burstein, who stepped away from the case last year.

A court has reportedly granted Minaj additional time to secure new legal representation before further proceedings continue.

As of now, she has not publicly commented on the latest filings.
