Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, delivered an electrifying and emotional performance during his show at Acholi Inn in Gulu, Northern Uganda.
The concert, which marked his fourth performance in Uganda in over five years, left fans and music lovers captivated.
A highlight of the night was Rudeboy’s heartfelt tribute to the late Ugandan music icon Mowzey Radio.
Rudeboy wowed the audience with a near-flawless rendition of Radio’s hit song Nakudata.
Overcome with emotion, Rudeboy paid his respects to the late singer, who passed away in two thousand and eighteen.
“singing for Radio,” Rudeboy said as the crowd erupted in cheers.
Mowzey Radio, born Moses Ssekibogo, was one of Uganda’s most celebrated musicians.
His untimely death in February two thousand and eighteen at the age of thirty-three shocked the nation.
Radio succumbed to injuries sustained during an alleged brawl at a popular hangout in Entebbe.
Five individuals were arrested in connection with the incident.
Radio’s voice and lyrical depth earned him a lasting legacy in Uganda’s music industry.
His songs remain a staple in nightclubs and on the airwaves, a testament to his impact on the industry.
Radio first gained recognition as a backup singer for music legend Jose Chameleone.
However, in two thousand and eight, he parted ways with Chameleone to form the Goodlyfe Crew with Douglas Mayanja, popularly known as Weasel, Chameleone’s younger brother.
The duo quickly rose to fame, producing hit after hit and cementing their place in Uganda’s music history.
