Nina Roz Challenges Black Market Afrika Over Rights to Unreleased Music
On August 4, Black Market Afrika, a sub-label under Black Market Records, posted on X that “Post Your Bae” by Nina Roz is coming out soon.
The post included the line, “Stay tuned for some love,” and mentioned the official handle for Black Market Records.
Nina Roz responded directly to the announcement by quoting the post and addressing her position regarding the release.
Respectfully, my contract with Black Market Records officially ended.
She wrote, before asserting control over her unreleased material.
I retain full rights over my unreleased music.
She then added a clear message about any future releases involving her work.
Any further release without my consent is unauthorized.
In closing, she emphasized her commitment to protecting her creative output.
I value my art, and I will not allow anyone to misuse or profit off my work without agreement.
With both parties taking public positions, the situation raises questions about ownership and consent in music distribution.
It remains to be seen how Black Market Records will respond.
