Nina Roz Opens Up About Overcoming Addiction Through Faith

Nina Roz has opened up about how she overcame addiction, sharing a deeply personal testimony about faith, acceptance and the importance of having the right support system.

Speaking on NBS Kurt, the singer, born Nina Kankunda, reflected on a time in her life when she felt completely powerless and unable to function without substances.

At one point, I let God take the lead because I had no control over myself. I reached a point where I could not do or perform without it. It was already out of my control. I loved music. I was passionate. I was so emotional about everything.

She explained that surrendering and allowing God to guide her marked the beginning of her breakthrough.

According to Nina Roz, overcoming the struggle was not something she credits to her own strength alone, but to divine grace and the people who stood by her.

I just let God and the right people handle it. All I know is that I overcame, and it was only by God’s grace that I did. There is no one I can give the credit to but God, because without Him, I do not think I would have found the right people to help and support me. The right people who did not judge me.

She also stressed that addiction is not something anyone can defeat alone, warning that what may begin as pleasure can quickly turn destructive.

You cannot do this alone. Whoever is out there thinking you can do it on your own, no. You may start it for pleasure because even at first, it made me happy. The next day, the same. But the devil is a liar. He only pleases you for a short time and then destroys you.

For Nina Roz, the real turning point came when she accepted her situation and chose to confront it fully.

When I had that awakening, I fought so hard. First of all, how did I fight? By accepting. Acceptance is key. It is number one. If you do not accept, even if they take you to rehab, you are wasting your time.

Now, she hopes her story encourages others, especially young women, not to wait until they reach a breaking point before choosing change.

I do not want girls to reach that level. You do not have to get to the point of going to a rehabilitation center. You have the power to quit.
