No Artiste in This Generation Can Beat Me in a Dancehall Battle, Claims Mark Da Urban
Mark Da Urban has confidently stated that he is one of the best and most talented dancehall artistes in the country.
Speaking during a media chat, he said this belief comes from within and that dancehall is part of his everyday life and personal routine.
“Dancehall music is what I truly believe I am meant to do. It is my life, my hobby, and I want to turn it into my profession,” he shared.
Mark acknowledged that over time, there have been many other exceptional artistes in the genre.
He mentioned several from previous generations, including Menton Summer, General Mega Dee, Peter Miles, Weather Man, Kidd Fox, Margla Da Ga Dem, Bella, and Cindy, among others.
He also recognized current artistes in the dancehall space, such as Vyper Rankings, Ziza Bafana, and Mudra D Viral.
Despite paying homage and respect, Mark said that in a musical battle, no dancehall artiste from this generation can defeat him.
“I can go toe to toe with any one of them in a battle and deep down I believe they cannot beat me. I said I am one of the best, not the best, simply to pay respect and not to disregard them,” he explained.
He further clarified that while he respects his fellow artistes, when it comes to a musical battle, that respect takes a back seat.
