No Ten Million, No Bebe Cool Performance
In a recent interview, Bebe Cool was asked whether he does not get gigs because of his political inclinations.
The singer responded by saying that he does not perform because he chooses not to.
He clarified that his choice is not influenced by politics; rather, he turns down gigs due to personal considerations related to money and his declining enjoyment of performing.
“I do not perform for any amount less than ten million,” he stated.
He added that even if offered 200 million shillings, he would still see performing as a burden rather than a passion, as he no longer enjoys it like he used to.
Bebe Cool also highlighted the financial realities of the Ugandan music industry, pointing out that many musicians earn very little.
He noted that compared to successful tycoons in Uganda, musicians often limit their ambitions, which affects their financial success.
Looking ahead, Bebe Cool plans to shift his focus from music to business in search of what he calls “mature money.”
He has invested significantly in a stone quarry on a large piece of land in Masode village, Kiboga district, along Hoima Road.
This represents a significant turning point in his career, as he intends to dedicate more time to this new venture.
