Nobat Events Cites Alien Skin Concert to Dismiss Claims He “Fell Off”
Events promoter Twizire Nobat, popularly known as Nobat Events, has responded to claims suggesting he has lost his spark in the events industry.
In an interview with Sanyuka TV, he dismissed these allegations as baseless and misinformed.
He pointed to his recent work organizing a major concert for Alien Skin as proof of his continued presence and relevance in the entertainment scene.
“It is on record this year that I have already organized a concert at one of the biggest venues in the country, Lugogo Cricket Oval. Alien Skin Live in Concert,” he said.
Nobat went on to explain that concerts differ significantly from regular events, which can be planned more frequently and with less effort.
According to him, organizing a concert demands both time and a substantial financial investment.
“Concerts take time. You have to look for funds, secure sponsorship, and find friends who will buy tables. Concerts depend a lot on the money collected through table purchases,” he explained.
Addressing critics who accuse him of only working with musicians whose fame has faded, Nobat defended his approach.
He described himself as a generational promoter who adds value to artistes, especially those looking to revive their stardom.
“I am the kind of promoter who finds a musician in a weird state and gives them hope. I tell them, ‘You were once a star and you can be a star again,’ and it happens,” he said.
He concluded by rejecting the notion of labeling musicians as “faded,” emphasizing that every artist experiences highs and lows in their career.
Reaching a peak and then slowing down, he said, is natural, but it does not mean a musician has lost their relevance or talent.
