Nobat Events Remanded as Court Probes Claims Against Chameleone
Events promoter Nobert Events has been remanded to Luzira Prison until 18 December after a heated court session held today at the Makindye Court.
The presiding justice stated that Nobert is facing serious charges after he publicly accused legendary singer Jose Chameleone of killing a top dancer.
The court observed that making such claims without substantial evidence could incite public tension and damage reputations, which is why a full investigation is required.
Nobert argued that his remarks were misunderstood and claimed he is being drawn into what he called “Eddy Kenzo’s politics.”
He said some people have twisted his statements to use him as a pawn in ongoing music industry rivalries and political alignments.
The judiciary stressed that the case is no longer about disagreements among celebrities, but now involves possible defamation, incitement, and public safety, calling for deeper scrutiny.
Nobert was escorted back to Luzira Prison until the next hearing.
Meanwhile, fans and industry stakeholders are waiting for the 18 December session, hoping it will offer more clarity on a case that has quickly become one of the most discussed stories of the month.
