Nobat Events to Spend Christmas in Luzira as Court Remands Him Until December 30

Popular events promoter Norbert Twezire, popularly known as Nobat Events, will spend the festive season behind bars after being further remanded to Luzira Prison until December 30, 2025.

Nobat appeared before the Makindye Magistrates Court on December 18 hoping to have his case heard and his bail application considered.

However, proceedings were halted when court officials revealed that the presiding magistrate was absent.

As a result, the matter was adjourned without any hearing taking place.

According to a court clerk, Nobat will be returned to court on December 30, 2025, when the magistrate is expected to be available.

The development means the events promoter will remain in custody through Christmas.

As he was escorted back to Luzira Prison, Nobat broke his silence, directing sharp words at those he believes are behind his continued detention.

I know artiste Eddy Kenzo may now be happy that I am in prison, but this will not stop me from speaking the truth. I will stand by the truth I have always spoken.

Nobat is reportedly battling a total of 12 criminal charges brought against him by several high profile artistes.

Eddy Kenzo is said to have filed eight charges, while Jose Chameleone lodged three, and Mariam Tindatine one.

The accusations reportedly range from defamation and verbal attacks to the alleged spread of false and damaging statements targeting the artistes involved.

Central to the case is Nobat’s claim that Eddy Kenzo misappropriated Shs5 billion intended for artistes, an allegation he continues to stand by, insisting he has evidence to support it.

In addition to those complaints, Nobat is also facing accusations related to a separate incident involving alleged verbal attacks against Eddy Kenzo’s fiancée, Phiona Nyamutoro.

As the legal battle continues, attention now shifts to December 30, when Nobat will return to court for the next stage of the proceedings.
