NXT New Year’s Evil 2026 Ends in Shock as Titles Change and Questions Rise

New Year’s Evil wasted no time shaking up WWE NXT. The special aired on January 6 from the WWE Performance Center and closed with a moment that overshadowed everything else.

Oba Femi beat Leon Slater to keep the NXT Championship. Moments later, Femi set the title down in the ring and walked away. The action left fans questioning whether he plans to leave NXT or drop the title altogether.

The women’s division also saw sudden change. A planned match fell apart after a pre match attack, opening the door for a surprise challenger. Izzi Dame seized the chance and left the building as the new Women’s North American Champion.

Elsewhere, Jacy Jayne stayed in control by keeping her hold on the NXT Women’s Championship. Tatum Paxley also added her name to the night with a singles win that stirred new rivalries.

By the time the show ended, New Year’s Evil had shifted the mood of NXT. Titles changed hands, alliances felt unstable, and one quiet gesture from Oba Femi left the future wide open.
