Omega 256 Dishes on the Struggles and Wins of Organizing Her Debut Concert
Singer Omega 256, whose real is Shamim Murerwa, is not waiting around for anyone to make her dreams happen.
After a dramatic fallout with promoter Nobat Events, the “Lioness of the West” decided to take full control by organizing her own debut concert from scratch.
The original show, scheduled for May 2, 2025, at Lugogo Cricket Oval, was canceled in chaos.
Fans were left shocked as Omega’s highly anticipated first concert disappeared without warning.
Behind the scenes, however, tensions were already running high.
Sources close to the singer say Nobat Events, run by Nobert Twizire, failed to provide basic promotion for the event.
Omega herself confirmed this, revealing that the promoter did not even fund rehearsals.
No advertisements were made. He refused to pay for the band to rehearse. He just said he does not work under pressure.
The situation escalated when Nobat went public with the cancellation, accusing Omega of “disrespect” and threatening to make her an example.
That threat backfired as Omega cut him off completely.
Now she is back and calling all the shots.
Her new concert date is set for September 19, 2025, at the same venue but with renewed energy.
This time, the event is fully under the control of her management, Diagram Evolution, with no promoter drama in sight.
Reflecting on her journey on Big Bang, Omega described the process as both challenging and eye-opening.
It has been has challenging. It has been hard, but it has been quite interesting. It is my first concert and I am getting to learn so many things that I did not know or things that I did not think that I actually needed. So, it is a bit challenging, but it is a beautiful experience. I am loving it.
While some artistes rely on viral gimmicks to sell tickets, Omega is taking a different approach.
My stunt is music.
In a world where clout often takes center stage, Omega 256 is betting everything on the music.
With full control, no middlemen, and lessons learned the hard way, her September concert is shaping up to be a statement.
