People Get Emotionally Moved and Cry When I Sing – Gloria Bugie
Singer Gloria Bugie, born Gloria Busingye, has become a notable figure in the Ugandan music scene, but her journey has not been without its fair share of criticism.
From the moment she entered the industry, people have questioned her vocal abilities, with one critic going as far as saying that she sounds like a “success card.”
Despite these harsh remarks, Gloria Bugie remained unfazed and boldly declared at the beginning of the year that she would bring home both BET and Grammy Awards.
In a recent interview, the singer opened up about the emotional power of her performances.
She shared how her music moves people, not just through loud cheers or hand-waving, but by making them cry tears.
“Have you ever seen a musician who sings and people cry, in Uganda? When I sing, people cry,” she said.
Gloria Bugie also highlighted her new song Panama as a prime example of her ability to connect emotionally with her audience.
“I create soulful music that touches people’s hearts. For example, in my song Panama, there is a part where I sound as though I am singing in tongues,” she added.
In closing, Gloria Bugie stressed that her goal is not to create music for the sake of creating it, but to make music that resonates with people.
