Police Confirm Sandra Teta’s Arrest Following Alleged Car Attack on Weasel

In a shocking incident early Thursday morning, 7 August 2025, Sandra Teta, partner to popular singer Douglas Mayanja, known as Weasel Manizo, was arrested following allegations that she knocked him with a vehicle.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, investigations are already underway. He said,

We have begun investigating the incident that occurred in the wee hours of Thursday morning at Shan’s Bar in Munyonyo. I can confirm that Sandra Teta is currently in custody at Kabalagala Police Station. She is alleged to have harmed her partner by knocking him with a vehicle. According to eyewitnesses, the act appeared to be intentional.

The vehicle believed to have been used in the attack, a white Mercedes-Benz with registration number UBH 148Y, has been impounded and is now held at Kabalagala Police Station.

No formal statement has yet been recorded from Teta, as she was brought in before dawn. Luke Owoyesigyire explained,

“We have not yet obtained a statement from Sandra Teta, as she was brought in during the early hours before dawn. We are in the process of recording it. Similarly, we will take a statement from Weasel, who is currently receiving treatment at Nsambya Hospital, once his condition allows.

It remains unclear whether Weasel Manizo will press charges.

However, police stress that the case will be handled seriously.

Even if the victim decides not to press charges, we will seek guidance from the relevant authorities on how to proceed with the case. We condemn such acts of violence.

As investigations continue, authorities urge the public to refrain from speculation while the full circumstances are established.
