Police Halt King Saha’s Concert Over Safety Concerns
King Saha’s highly anticipated concert, scheduled for Friday, January 24, 2025, at Lugogo Cricket Oval, has been halted by the police due to safety concerns.
Police Spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma explained that the decision to halt the event followed a safety assessment by the security team and the National Sports Council.
“When organizing a music show, security forces and other teams that are concerned are supposed to do assessments on matters of safety,” Rusoke said.
He further added, “Concerns were raised by our joint security team and the National Sports Council. They both observed structural issues about the facility, in the sense that it has the potential to endanger public safety.”
Rusoke also noted that the police had informed Galabuzi Denis of Umoja Management Limited, the event organizer, about the decision to halt the concert.
“The concert is on halt, and that means that if those issues can be rectified, the place can be used. So, at the moment, we are halting it because it has a lot it can do in endangering public safety,” he said, clarifying that the concert has not yet been canceled.
Fans of King Saha will have to wait and see if the necessary adjustments can be made in time to allow the event to proceed.
For now, public safety remains the priority.
