Afande Racheal Kawala, the newly elected Spokesperson of the Kampala Metropolitan Police, has spoken out after a viral video emerged on social media on the morning of November 19, capturing alleged gunshots and stone-throwing in an incident connected to singer Alien Skin.
Speaking to Sanyuka TV, Kawala emphasized that no individual is above the law, regardless of their status or influence.
She confirmed that police have already commenced thorough investigations to establish what exactly transpired during the chaotic scene captured in the video.
According to Kawala, preliminary findings indicate that there was a confrontation involving members of the public and individuals believed to be connected to the singer.
She noted that part of the ongoing investigations includes statements already recorded from key witnesses.
Kawala further revealed that Edrine, the manager of Alien Skin, reported a case to the police and recorded an official statement regarding malicious damage.
Authorities are now reviewing his account alongside other statements to determine the root cause of the confrontation and identify those responsible for escalating the situation.
Kawala reassured the public that the police will handle the matter with full transparency and professionalism.
