Pop Peace at Last: Madonna and Elton John End 20-Year Feud

Madonna and Elton John have officially ended one of pop music’s longest and most talked-about feuds.

The American pop queen and the British music icon finally made peace after nearly two decades of drama and harsh words.

The emotional reunion happened on Saturday Night Live, on April 5, where Elton John performed and Madonna was spotted in the audience.

After the show, the 66-year-old singer took to social media to share how much the moment meant to her.

She revealed that Elton welcomed her backstage with a simple but powerful message. He said “Forgive me” and that was all it took to melt away years of tension.

Their feud started in 2002 when Elton publicly criticized Madonna’s James Bond theme song titled “Die Another Day.”

That was only the beginning. Over the years, he continued making comments, including during the 2004 Q Awards where he accused her of lip-syncing and questioned her win as Best Live Act.

Now in 2025, the icy wall between them has come down. Madonna shared that Elton even wrote a song for her and proposed a collaboration, something fans never thought would happen.

For Madonna, the moment was deeply emotional. She recalled sneaking out during high school to watch Elton perform in Detroit. That night, she says, changed her life forever.

Now, after 20 years of public tension, hugs, forgiveness, and possibly a new duet? The feud is officially over, and music fans everywhere are cheering.
