Prince Job Paul Kafeero Cultural Heritage Names Musicians in Copyright Warning
The Prince Job Paul Kafeero Cultural Heritage has sounded the alarm over the unauthorised use of the late Job Paul Kafeero’s music.
In a statement dated March 3, 2026, the Heritage warned that Kafeero’s songs are being altered, re-voiced, and repackaged on platforms like TikTok and YouTube without permission.
According to the organisation, some individuals have gone as far as changing original lyrics and using the same melodies for political and abusive messaging.
It also claims that some of these versions are being monetised without consent from the rightful copyright holders.
Songs such as “Ekiwemenya Amazina” and “Dipo Nazigala” are among the works affected.
The Heritage says it has compiled a list of those involved and has instructed its lawyers, Bristow Advocates, to begin legal action.
It specifically named singers Kid Dee and Lil Pazo, accusing them of re-voicing songs using Kafeero’s melodies but adding lyrics described as abusive, immoral, and political.
The organisation made it clear that no one is permitted to reproduce, adapt, remix, politicise, or commercially exploit Kafeero’s music without written authorisation from the lawful administrators of his estate.
It is now calling on Ugandans to respect the late musician’s legacy and refrain from altering his work for political or commercial gain.
