Prison Humbled Me — Madubarah

TikTok sensation Madubarah, real name Juma Musuuza, is finally a free man after spending a year in Kigo Prison.

Arrested in November 2024 on charges related to hate speech and allegedly spreading false information about the First Family, Madubarah shared his experience during an interview with Sanyuka TV, reflecting on the harsh lessons he learned behind bars.

When you get to prison, all your fame means nothing. No one cares how many followers you have. You’re just another inmate in a torn uniform, doing what everyone else does.

Adjusting to prison life was tough at first, but he quickly learned that survival meant accepting reality.

Everyone is equal in there. You eat the same food, sleep in the same space, and follow the same rules. Once I accepted that, life became easier.

Madubarah was held in Ward 31, where fellow inmates welcomed him warmly.

Contrary to his fears, prison officers treated him fairly, despite the serious nature of his charges.

I expected hostility, but the officers and prisoners were respectful. I was never mistreated.

Now out, Madubarah reflects on the experience as life-changing.

He says the experience taught him to value freedom, respect others, and live with humility and he plans to carry these lessons into the next chapter of his life.
