Producer Didi Urges Artistes to Take HIV Seriously as World AIDS Day Is Marked

As the world observed World AIDS Day, celebrated Ugandan music producer Producer Didi stepped forward with a message of awareness, responsibility, and compassion.

Opening up about living positively with HIV, Didi reminded both the entertainment industry and the public that the virus remains real and deeply impactful across the country.

His honesty comes at a time when many assume the fight is over simply because treatment has improved.

Didi stressed that despite medical progress, new infections remain alarmingly high, especially among young people and those in the spotlight.

He urged fellow entertainers to take their health seriously and use their platforms to educate rather than glamorize risky lifestyles.

He also addressed one of the most painful challenges HIV-positive individuals face: stigma.

According to Didi, society still treats them unfairly, creating shame where there should be support.

It is not right to stigmatize or look down on anyone living with HIV. We all need love, support, and understanding. Stigma kills faster than the virus itself.

Didi’s advocacy serves as a reminder that HIV is manageable. People living with the virus can still achieve success and fulfillment when supported with care and respect.
