Producer Rinex Says Sheebah vs Cindy Was Business, Not a Battle
Renowned music producer Rinex has dismissed the much-publicized showdown between Sheebah Karungi and Cindy Sanyu as a calculated event rather than a genuine musical battle.
The two singers faced off on September 15 at Kololo Independence Grounds in what was marketed as a head-to-head clash.
However, Rinex believes the event was driven more by business interests than artistic rivalry.
It was not a battle. It was business. They were making money. All of them were paid to perform. It was not a battle.
In his opinion, the last true musical battle in Uganda took place over a decade ago.
The real battle was between Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine. They even put a wire mesh between them. It was a real battle. If there had been nothing separating them, it could have gotten out of hand.
Looking to the present, Rinex shared a dream match-up he would love to see play out on stage.
There is a musician who has been saying for a while that he wants Eddy Kenzo, and that is King Saha. I love both of them. They are all my artistes, and I am a big fan of both. But I would love to see them battle each other. Even if it is not a battle, just seeing them on the same stage to see who is who.
As fans hope for more battles, Rinex reminds us that not every face-off on stage is a genuine battle.
