Recho Rey Rejects Paying for Local Collaborations

While many artistes negotiate fees for features, Recho Rey says that has never been her approach.

While on Flexx, the Ugandan rapper, born Mirembe Racheal, revealed that she has never paid for a collaboration within Uganda, insisting that local features should be about helping each other rather than money.

I have never paid anyone for a collaboration… I would not pay somebody for a collaboration. Here at home, I think it should be artistes helping each other out.

However, she was quick to clarify that the situation is different when stepping onto the international stage.

But if you want to cross over and work with an artiste like Platnumz, they give you terms and conditions.

Even so, Recho Rey says the song remains the deciding factor, at least for her.

While she would not reject money if offered, she believes a strong song can make a feature happen on its own.
