Recording the Vibe or Killing It? DJ Spinny & Friends Exposes the Phone Addiction

On October 12, DJ Spinny set Mestil on fire with “DJ Spinny & Friends,” flashing lights, pounding beats, and vibes strong enough to wake the ancestors.

Everyone came ready to turn up. Well almost everyone.

The ladies arrived in full style with lashes on point, outfits that could stop traffic, and phones fully charged to capture every moment in 4K.

As soon as Spinny dropped the beats, hands went up not to dance but to record.

It looked like they were shooting a full documentary for AfroMobile.

They were not dancing at all. Just holding their phones like Olympic torches, capturing six second clips of the same DJ drop they will never watch again.

Where do all those videos go? The cloud? Forgotten folders? The graveyard of memories called storage almost full?

It is time for a new rule: No phone shall enter a party unless it can dance.

Come to feel the music, not to post it online. DJ Spinny was spinning pure magic and they were spinning camera angles.

The real question is who is enjoying the vibes if everyone is filming them?

Next event will be a “No Phones Just Vibes Edition.” Let us see who survives.
