Reign Challenges All Comedians, Spares Amooti Omubalanguzi
Reign, one half of the celebrated duo Maulana and Reign, has thrown down the gauntlet to Uganda’s comedy industry.
In a bold social media post, the outspoken comedian declared he is ready for a comedy battle against any comedian in the country.
The proposed showdown, he says, would test wit, delivery, and crowd control to determine who truly commands the stage.
However, he made one exception.
Reign made it clear he would not challenge veteran comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi, whom he regards as a mentor and legend.
I am ready for anyone from the young guns to the big names. Let us see who can really make Uganda laugh! But not Amooti that is my teacher, and I can’t battle my mentor.
The announcement quickly stirred debate online, with fans tagging comedians such as MC Mariachi, Teacher Mpamire, and Salvado Idringi, urging them to respond.
While some applauded Reign’s confidence, others questioned whether the challenge is a serious contest or a strategic move to generate relevance.
If the battle happens, it could bring together established stars and rising comics in a rare face off that puts stage presence and humor to the ultimate test.
