Rema Namakula Raises Concern Over Fan Behavior at Performances

Ugandan singer Rema Namakula has spoken out against inappropriate behavior from fans, revealing a recent incident where a fan touched her without consent during a performance.

While appearing on NBS After 5, Rema emphasized the importance of respecting women’s personal boundaries.

Never touch a woman without her consent.

The singer recounted how a fan crossed the line after approaching the stage.

A fan came to me excited and touched me in a very bad place. Where he touched is a very embarrassing place I cannot even say.

When asked whether it was a minor touch like on the leg, she dismissed the suggestion, saying such contact would not have triggered her reaction.

Touching my leg cannot make me fight.

Rema also addressed questions about her dressing, noting that she dressed appropriately at the time of the incident.

You all know I am a decent woman. I was dressed with no part of my body exposed.

She explained that moments before the incident, another fan came on stage to tip her before a different individual acted inappropriately.

Anger took over in the moment, and Rema reacted physically.

I lost my temper and swung the microphone, and before I noticed, I had hit him at the back of his head.

The incident, which she said happened not long ago, has added to ongoing conversations about artist safety and the need for fans to respect performers’ personal space during shows.
