Rema Surpasses Wizkid With 170 Week Billboard Run
Rema has reached a new milestone on the Billboard World Albums chart.
His debut album Rave & Roses has now spent 170 weeks on the chart, extending its run as the longest charting African album in the chart’s history.
The project surpassed the previous record held by Wizkid’s Made In Lagos, which logged 164 weeks.
Other African projects with notable runs include Tems’ Born In The Wild with 79 weeks, Burna Boy’s Love, Damini with 63 weeks, and Fela Kuti’s The Best Of The Black President with 45 weeks.
Rema also secured his second entry on the Billboard Hot 100 this week as “Secondhand” with Don Toliver debuted at number 29.
Tems debuted “What You Need” on the Hot 100 as well, bringing her total entries to seven, tying a record with Burna Boy and South African group Seether.
