Rosé Makes History as First Female Soloist to Win MAMA Song of the Year

BLACKPINK’s Rosé has rewritten K-pop history at the 2025 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

She became the first female soloist to win Song of the Year with her hit “APT.” featuring Bruno Mars.

The award had gone only to male soloists or groups for 26 years, making Rosé’s achievement a major breakthrough for women in the industry.

The song, released in October 2024, quickly gained worldwide attention.

It spent seven weeks at the top of the Billboard Global 200, reached number three on the Hot 100, and became the fastest K-pop song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Fans celebrated the milestone as Rosé accepted the award through a video presentation.

The track has also earned nominations for Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the 2026 Grammys, underlining its global success.

Rosé’s win highlights her rise as a solo artiste beyond BLACKPINK.

Her global appeal, record-breaking streams, and recognition at major award shows show she is shaping the next era of K-pop stars.
