Salongo Siraja Says He Will Contest Again for Mukono Mayorship If the People Beg Him To

Salongo Siraja has revealed that he will contest again for the Mukono Municipality Mayorship, but only if the people truly ask him to.

In 2021, the Kadongo Kamu singer contested for the same position but was not successful.

Despite the outcome, he does not consider it a loss.

According to him, he may not have won the seat, but he won the hearts of the people.

I did not fall. I am the mayor of the people. Everywhere I pass, people shout, ‘Our Mayor!’ Someone who fell cannot still be called mayor by the people.

Asked whether he plans to hit the campaign trail again, Siraja said it will depend on what the people of Mukono tell him.

If people ask me to contest again, I will. And people are actually telling me to come back. So, if they ask me to contest, in good faith, I will. But if they do not ask me, I will not.
