Salvador Credits Steve Jean with Turning His “Africa Laughs” Dream into Reality
Patrick Idringi, alias Salvador, has taken to X to reflect on the early days of his comedy career and to give credit to the man who helped make it all possible, music producer Steve Jean.
According to the comedian, his journey took a major turn after he was inspired and challenged by a Nigerian promoter whose identity he did not disclose.
That moment pushed him to take a leap of faith and start organizing his own shows.
He already had the comedians and had built strong relationships with influential people, but what he lacked was the money to bring his dream to life.
Thankfully, that was when Steve Jean, the proprietor of Fenon Records, stepped in.

Back in 2013, Steve believed in Salvador’s vision so much that he used his own money to fund the very first edition of Africa Laughs Season 1.
“Steve used his own money to make sure the show was a success,” the man from Ombokolo wrote.
Two years later, he managed to repay Steve back, but the impact of that support runs deeper than money.
Now, as he celebrates 15 years in the comedy industry, Salvador says he will always be grateful to Steve Jean and Fenon Entertainment for standing by him when he needed it most.
