Sami Mighty Family Thanks Bobi Wine After Emergency Surgery

Sammy Okanya, better known as Sammy, the beloved Ugandan comedian from the once-popular group The Mighty Family who later turned politician and became a vocal supporter of the National Unity Platform (NUP), sent shockwaves through fans when news of his serious illness broke.

A few months ago, Sammy faced a terrifying health scare that made it almost impossible for him to pass urine.

The situation became so critical that he had to undergo emergency surgery.

Fortunately, the operation was a success, and he is now steadily recovering and regaining his strength.

During a follow-up interview with Sanyuka Uncut, Sammy shared just how much the support of friends, fans, and leaders meant to him during his darkest moments.

I want to thank everyone who stood by me during my time of need. My president, Bobi Wine, paid all my medical bills, and I’m now doing much better and recovering well. I am still undergoing treatment and regularly seeing my doctor for checkups.

But Sammy did not stop there.

He also took a moment to address those who doubted or criticized him while he was sick, while appealing for some continued support.

To those who criticized me during my illness, I have forgiven you all. However, I still need some financial help to buy my prescribed medicine since I was advised to stay home and rest as I recover. Anyone willing to support me can reach out. Thank you.
