Sarah Zawedde Argues for Quality Over Quantity in Music, Declares Maddox Uganda’s Biggest Reggae Artiste
Ugandan singer Sarah Zawedde, widely recognized for her hit song Kambere Nawe, recently shared her thoughts on the importance of quality over quantity in the music industry during an appearance on Sanyuka TV.
In her submission, Zawedde argued that artists do not need a large number of songs or albums to achieve success and remain relevant.
She pointed out that some musicians, despite having fewer than two albums, continue to thrive in the industry.
To cement her point, she highlighted the example of Maddox Sematimba, whom she considers to be Uganda’s biggest reggae artiste, despite his relatively small discography.
“Even with just a few songs, people still pay to watch Maddox perform live to this day,” she remarked.
Zawedde concluded by emphasizing that it is not about having an extensive catalog, but about the quality of the music an artiste creates.
