Sasha Vybz Confesses His True Passion Is Film, Not Music Videos

Sasha Vybz is known for creating some of Uganda’s biggest music videos, but in a revealing chat on the Ugandan Boy Talk Show, he confessed that film has always been his real passion.

Music videos, he says, were always his Plan B.

Film has always been my Plan A. Music videos have always been Plan B. I only went to music videos to survive, but film has always been on my heart. It is my day one goal.

The news comes as fans notice a slowdown in his music video projects.

Sasha explained that this is all part of a bigger plan to grow and focus on his true dream.

You have not probably seen so many music videos currently because I personally call it growth, and I feel like the first time when I came back in the industry, the easiest thing for me to do was music videos because music videos were available. Artistes are willing to fund and shoot.

For Sasha, music videos were a stepping stone, a way to get noticed and build credibility before diving fully into filmmaking.

But my initial thought was, ‘okay, get yourself popular…’ And as a filmmaker, that is what you have to do: you get yourself popular, you get yourself known. The moment you get to the point where you are at the pinnacle, then you can easily go back to Plan A, which was always film.

He also revealed that filmmaking is not just about talent.

It requires experience, networking, and collaboration, which he has been carefully building over the years.

Film has alot to do with the experience, connections, networking, and collaboration. I feel like those elements are now aligned.

With this focus and determination, Sasha Vybz is now ready to make the leap from music video superstar to filmmaker.
