“See You Tonight” Is Hot, But DVJ Mercy Pro and Alfa Tymz Predict a Short Run

“See You Tonight” by Omega 256 and Cindy Sanyu is arguably the biggest song in Ugandan music right now.

Since its release, fans have loved it, and the track has racked up massive views on YouTube in record time.

But not everyone believes the hit will stay at the top for long.

On NBS After5, DVJ Mercy Pro shared his thoughts on the song’s rapid rise and possible short shelf life.

For a song that just comes and blows out like ‘See You Tonight,’ I think for now it is the biggest song that is really making rounds, but it might die down a bit fast. But a song like ‘Go,’ I think it can be around for quite some time and it is also a big song.

DVJ Mercy Pro points out that while “See You Tonight” is huge now, songs like “Go” have more staying power and could dominate the charts longer.

Alfa Tymz agreed with DVJ Mercy Pro, explaining why he also sees the song as a short-term sensation.

Those are the two different elements with these songs. Personally, I see ‘See You Tonight’ as a song that is going to be around for a shorter while, as DVJ Mercy has said. It lacks an element of longevity to last for a long time. It came the same way ‘Obulungi Bunuma’ by B2C came. It came and blew up immediately.

He adds that while the song is fun and catchy, it may not have the lasting impact of other big hits.

For now, fans continue to stream “See You Tonight” non-stop.

Whether it remains at the top or fades quickly like some predict, the song has already secured its spot among the biggest Ugandan hits of 2025.
