Selecta Jef Blacklists Musician Over Disrespect, Fans Left Guessing

Away from his usual commentary on promoting Ugandan music and collaborations between DJs and musicians, Selecta Jef has revealed that he has blacklisted a particular artiste.

Through his X account, the DJ explained that there is certain music he will never play, no matter what the artist does or achieves.

There is a certain musician’s ziki I will never play even if they collaborated with Chris Brown (I erased their entire catalogue from my machine).

He clarified that his decision was driven by the artiste’s disrespect.

Some artistes think they can be disrespectful to you and still expect you to play their music. Well, this industry is built on mutual respect.

Despite blacklisting the artiste, Selecta Jef emphasized that his action is unlikely to affect either their career or his.

Does that mean their music will not move or work? No. Do I lose anything if I do not play their music? No.

By keeping the musician’s identity under wraps, he has left fans speculating.

For now, they will have to wait and see if the artiste’s name ever comes to light.
