Shade Okoya Opens Up About Marrying an Older Man

Nigerian businesswoman and industrialist Shade Okoya has spoken openly about her marriage to billionaire Razak Okoya.

The two got married in 1999 when Shade was just 21 years old, while her husband was 59.

During an interview with BBC Yoruba, Shade shared that she has no regrets about marrying an older man.

She explained that she does not feel like she has missed out on anything by choosing Razak as her husband.

Shade also revealed that her family supported her decision.

Even though her father had passed away by then, her mother and grandmother were fully in favor of the marriage.

Talking about how she met her husband, the mother of four said Razak made his intentions clear from the start and quickly did everything necessary to make their union official.

Shade described her marriage as a happy one.

She said her husband has been generous and protective towards her, and she feels content with the life they have built together.

The businesswoman also talked about her role at home.

Although she has people working around her, she personally takes care of her husband.

She mentioned that before their marriage, Razak had told her she would have to work and not just be a housewife, a promise she continues to fulfill.
